Bournemouth travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley in the Premier League’s early kick-off on Sunday, with relegation concerns looming over both teams.
The hosts, Burnley, currently sit in 19th place, only above Sheffield United on goal difference. After Everton’s point deduction was reduced from ten to six earlier this week, Vincent Kompany’s side now finds itself eleven points away from safety.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, sit in a relatively safer 14th place, eight points clear of the relegation zone. However, they are still not mathematically safe and will look to extend the gap with a crucial victory this weekend.
The Clarets will be without key midfielder Josh Brownhill, who received a straight red card against Crystal Palace. They are also missing several key players due to injuries:
Andoni Iraola’s side has its own injury concerns, with the following players unavailable:
There is also uncertainty regarding Dominic Solanke, who missed the FA Cup defeat to Leicester due to a knee injury. However, Tyler Adams and Phillip Billing returned to action recently and could play a role.
Burnley have lost their last three league matches, suffering heavy defeats to Liverpool and Crystal Palace under new manager Oliver Glasner. The Clarets have conceded 11 goals in these three games while scoring just once.
Bournemouth’s form has also been concerning, with their early-season resurgence fading since the start of the new year. A win at Turf Moor could provide a much-needed boost.
Burnley will be desperate for points at home, but Bournemouth’s superior squad depth and quality could give them the edge. A tight contest is expected, with Bournemouth potentially snatching a narrow victory.
Predicted Score: Burnley 1-2 Bournemouth
