Sofiane Oumiha is hoping to land Olympic gold at the third time of asking in his native France this summer.

Odds Now have taken a closer look at the 63.5kg category to see who might come out on top in the French capital.

Sofiane Oumiha (5/6)

France's Sofiane Oumiha's amateur pedigree speaks for itself. He has already competed at two separate Olympics, winning gold at Rio 2016 before bowing out at the quarter-finals in Tokyo three years ago.

Oumiha has also won gold at three separate World Championships as well as gold at the 2023 European Games - a competition where he has also claimed silver twice. He also boasts two gold medals at the Mediterranean Games at 60kg.

Oumiha has turned professional since competing at the Games three years ago and currently boasts a pro record of 5-0(3KOs). The Frenchman hasn't fought in the paid ranks since December 2023 though, as his attention turns to a third Olympics appearance.

His glittering amateur career makes Oumiha an overwhelming favourite to win Olympic gold in front of a home crowd.

Ruslan Abdullaev (7/2)

Uzbekistan's Ruslan Abdullaev secured a place at Paris 2024 following a winning performance at the First Qualification Tournament back in March.

Abdullaev won all four of his contests to confirm an appearance at a first Olympic Games.

The 21-year-old is now targeting a spot on the podium to go alongside the gold he won at the 2023 World Championships in his native Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Lasha Guruli (6/1)

Georgian lightweight Lasha Guruli is a firm outsider at 63.5kg but was nevertheless a single win away from winning gold at the 2023 European Games.

The 27-year-old lost a majority-decision to the aforementioned Sofiane Oumiha in Poland - a result which forced Guruli to settle for a silver medal instead.

The Georgian previously campaigned at 69kg where he secured bronze twice at the 2021 and 2023 World Championships, while also winning silver at two separate European Championships.
